At Hillbrook we offer a wide range of extended services to our children and parents as well as to the local community. We ensure that all our children and families have access to a number of services and facilities within the local area.
For a small cost, the children are offered a broad range of activities including study support, sports, music and special interest clubs in order to extend their learning opportunities and skills. In most cases, these activities take place either during the school day or straight after school on our school site.
Breakfast Club and After School Care Service
Hillbrook Breakfast Club operates from 7.45am – 8.45am, Monday to Friday for 38 weeks of the year (term time only, and not including any public holidays or days on which the school is closed) and is available for children who are registered pupils at the school only.
Hillbrook After School care operates from 3.15pm – 6.00pm, Monday to Friday for 38 weeks of the year (term time only, and not including any public holidays or days on which the school is closed ) and is available for children who are registered pupils at the school only.
During the Breakfast Club and After School sessions, either a healthy breakfast or snack will be provided. A menu is published each week and displayed on the Breakfast Club and After School Care notice board.
Links with other schools
Hillbrook has set up many links with local primary schools to provide an opportunity for pupils to compete against each other. The largest project is the well-established ‘Golden League’, which sees primary schools compete in a full season football league.
Children in various year groups take part in swimming lessons at both Gatton and Ernest Bevin Secondary School. In addition, year groups have the opportunity to go and experience a range of activities in secondary schools, including judo, design and technology and humanities lessons.
