Physical Education (PE) at Hillbrook
PE is a central part of the curriculum. All classes are taught by a PE specialist once a week. In addition, sports coaches provide further high quality lessons for the pupils during curriculum time.
Hillbrook focus on one sport per half term, with a stress on fair play, handshakes, sporting behaviours and coaching techniques. The pupils experience a range of games and skills during each half term covering sports such as net ball, volley ball, table tennis, lacrosse, hockey, athletics, tag rugby, tennis, football and basketball. Intra school competitions are held in each sport.
A number of sports clubs are held after school with football, cricket and gymnastics being popular choices for the pupils. Many of these clubs lead to competitions with other schools in the borough.
