The Golden League

Hillbrook are involved in many sport competitions every year and we are always one of the top schools in Wandsworth. One of the main events is the Golden League, which Hillbrook hosts and usually involves 12 local schools.

The league sees primary schools compete in a full season football league. This gives both boys and girls the opportunity to play fixtures against each other each week in an exciting and competitive environment.

The Golden League has been growing for the last 5 years. Hillbrook has hosted and run the league successfully with the support and interest of many other local primary schools. Hillbrook is lucky to have space for 2 football pitches - one on the grass and one all-weather. Each team plays each other twice, once on each surface, to find out who will become the Tooting champions.

Teams on the field consist of seven players, and each school is required to play at least one girl in all matches. The all-weather pitch is five-a-side, where the game really speeds up. Fircroft have won the league for the past two years – we’re excited to find out whether they can make it a hat trick, or if a new team will be crowned champions of Tooting.
