Stone Age Day
On Friday 20th January, Hillbrook Primary School celebrated Stone Age Day. Each year group chose a different fun, practical activity to learn about how humans lived during the Stone Age. Year 6 built shelters on Tooting Common, while year 5 focused on Stone Age fashion! Year 4 (with the help of Mr “Bear Grylls” Hogg) learnt how to start fires and Year 3 learnt the essential skill of bartering to survive. Year 2 communicated without language, just like the first Stone Age men and women. Year 1 and Foundation Stage created their own cave art using charcoal and their hands. The children learnt that life was very different (and sometimes hard!) during the Stone Age and that we are very lucky to enjoy modern life.
