Year 3 Stone Age Day
Year 3 had great fun on Stone Age Day learning all about prehistoric life. We looked at different artefacts to see if we could work out what they used them for and thought about what this told us about how they lived. Then we set ourselves the challenge to try and communicate like they did in the early Stone Age – with no language! In groups, we came up with our own hand signals and then used these to work together and build a model of Stonehenge. Some people found it easier than others, we definitely all forgot we weren’t supposed to be speaking at some point. In the afternoon we had a go at making our own paint using charcoal and oil to try out cave painting. It was hard work but we made some good pictures. We had a great day with all the activities and all learned a lot about life in the Stone Age.
