Why Work at Hillbrook
Hillbrook is more than a place of work – it is a community.
We are a well-resourced school with dedicated art, music and PE teachers. We also have maths and English leaders who are non-class based – an excellent resource for all staff to access. The school has two dedicated games areas (MUGAs), an all-weather school field with running track, a music room, library and a beautiful art space to inspire our children. We are lucky to have an onsite ASD resource base for Nursery and Reception children from across the borough.
Wellbeing is important to us at Hillbrook with 'Wellbeing Weeks' planned into the year to encourage staff to prioritise themselves. Teachers are actively encouraged to take their weekly PPA time at home where possible and a school of our size allows teachers to plan and work collaboratively. We have social activities planned by our Wellbeing Leads, as well as annual events such as the Hillbrook Quiz, Winter Social and end of year celebration. Physical wellbeing is also a priority – staff often meet up after work for a run or game of netball. Hillbrook staff are enrolled in the Smart School Benefits scheme which provides access to a range of offers and discounts.
CPD matters at Hillbrook. There are opportunities for staff to attend internal and external training and to network with colleagues from other schools. Engaging and relevant INSET days are held and recent topics have included the Art of Being Brilliant and Developing Professional Learning Communities.
We have a full induction programme to get new staff started and comfortable as quickly as possible. We also have a dedicated HR Officer who will be happy to advise you with any issues relating to your employment contract, absences, your payslip or general admin support.
We look forward to welcoming you to Hillbrook Primary School!
